Agile QA / Test Developer (Boston)

As an outstanding Agile QA / Test  Developer you will use your demonstrable success and interest in both writing code and testing software. You will design, build and maintain a robust framework for running automated tests and carry out exploratory testing where computers just can’t cut it and that personal touch is required.
Working in pairs and in cohesion with other developers, you will also be coaching the team in good test development, reviewing other developers’ tests, and build the hard tests others cannot do!  You will need to enjoy working in QA and test, in an Agile environment. Due to our rapid business growth since launching our products in 2005, TIM Group has continued to expand our development offices in Boston, US and London, UK.  This role will be based with the Boston development team.

Essential Attributes / Skills:

  • Ability to program in a relevant language (e.g. Java, Python) in a commercial environment
  • Prior QA knowledge combined with a demonstrable interest in test
  • Coach testing techniques and working with developers
  • Design efficient, thorough test plans for software features
  • Can design and build automated tests
  • Experience (or at least interest) in working in an Agile environment
  • Ability to work with different people and switch context quickly
  • Diligence

Ideal Attributes:

  • Analyzes software failures and identifies root causes and actions to address those causes
  • Designs, implements, and analyzes non-functional tests
  • Can conduct or help to conduct high-volume performance testing and tuning exercises.
  • Effectively use tools such as Selenium, Hudson/Jenkins, Team City, and JUnit
  • Can write effective and maintainable Java code
  • Can effectively use mocking frameworks (JMock, Mockito)
  • Prior finance experience / knowledge
  • Management of small ad hoc groups
  • Able to work with multi-office teams
